All templates have been prepared using 0.5cm margins and Times New Roman 12pt font. When the PDFs are generated via the RMS system, they can appear smaller than allowed however, this is just the result of the generation process and does not present an issue. As long as the original source document is correctly formatted, this will not present a compliance issue. Applicants may increase margin sizes if they wish. Please note: the use of Mac computers, open source software or older versions of word may cause the templates to display the incorrect formatting requirements. Please check the font size (min 12pt), margin size (min 0.5cm) and page size (A4) before converting to PDF.
Strategic advice on completing 'Research Environment' within Part C and Strategic advice for justifying a DORA request: this is available by contacting the GMO on mygrants [dot] gmo [at] unsw [dot] edu [dot] au

Important Information on Investigator Certification
UNSW requires all named investigators on your application to complete a ARC Certification Form prior to submitting your grant to the ARC. This is an absolute requirement. This form can be found on the ARC website at http://www.arc.gov.au/ncgp/dp/dp_certification.htm . Signatures of all participating investigators and their organisations, except overseas organisations, are required.
As soon as you know the full team for your proposal, forward the form to the team members and ask them to complete and return to you.
- Ask your investigators to add the DP proposal number and their name to the form, and print two copies.
- On one copy they tick Chief/Partner Investigator box and sign.
- On the other copy they tick Organisation and ask their Organisation authorised representative to sign.
Please submit certifications by email to your compliance adviser, or if you are not sure who your compliance adviser is please email to mygrants [dot] gmo [at] unsw [dot] edu [dot] au
Part F5 – Centre Director letter confirming non-duplication of work
If you are associated with a Commonwealth-funded Research Centre, the Centre Head must provide written confirmation to the UNSW Grants Management Office that the Centre is not duplicating work that is already funded or could reasonably be expected to be funded by a Centre.
Please provide a letter from the Centre Director to GMO as follows:
* on Centre letter head and signed by Centre Director
* Re: DP13 XXXX: Lead CI Name, Project Title
"I am writing in support of the above project proposal and to confirm that the XXX Centre provides an appropriate environment for its successful completion. (Elaborate as appropriate on the intellectual contribution the Centre and its team will make, to strengthen the application).
The proposed research does not duplicate work that is already funded or could reasonably be expected to be funded by a Centre. (Add a short description of Centre’s research program and how it differs from the proposed research including a reason as to why it could not be reasonably expected to be funded by the Centre)."
Scan the signed letter and email it directly to your Compliance Advisor or mygrants [dot] gmo [at] unsw [dot] edu [dot] au with the subject line: DP13 XXXX: Lead CI Last Name - Centre Director letter.
