Donor funded:

The following scholarships funded by bequests and UNSW benefactors are available as a top up to main awards.

These scholarships are ONLY for postgraduate research study at UNSW (applicants must have either submitted an application for admission or already be studying at UNSW to be eligible).

Baxter Family Postgraduate Scholarship

Engineering, Medicine and Science

  • $15,000 pa for 3 years with a possible 6 month extension
  • To be eligible to apply for this award applicants must be commencing or proposing to commence a fulltime PhD in Engineering, Medicine or Science.
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.
  • Applicants must have submitted an application to the main domestic scholarship round.

Required documentation: 

  • In addition to documents submitted for the main scholarship round, applicants must submit a statement outlining the anticipated benefits of the proposed research to Australian technology and industry (no more than one page). Submit this statement to domestic.grs@unsw.edu.au. The statement and email subject lines should follow the following naming convention: 1234567 SMITH, John - Baxter Family Scholarship Statement (where 1234567 is your UNSW ID).
