Applications for 2013 Heart Foundation postgraduate scholarships are now OPEN

Please note: UNSW's internal closing date for 2013 Heart Foundation scholarship applications is Monday 2 July, 2012.

 

The Heart Foundation offers Postgraduate Scholarships in biomedical, clinical and public health disciplines for research relevant to cardiovascular disease and its related disorders. These scholarships are for nursing, medical, science and other relevant graduates seeking support for full-time research studies leading towards a PhD at an Australian university or institution.

Eligibility:

Applications are only open to graduates whose usual residence is Australia and are either:

1. A Citizen of Australia or New Zealand

2. A Permanent resident of Australia

3. Have submitted their application to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship for a permanent residence Visa but have not yet received the visa. Note: Evidence of the permanent residence Visa being granted must be provided prior to funding being released to the scholar s research institute.

Postgraduate Research Scholarships are normally awarded for up to three years.  Stipends are determined by the Heart Foundation. Although stipends are not determined until the outcome of the funding round is known, stipends will normally be similar to to those provided for with an equivalent award by the NHMRC.
