Biography

Senior Lecturer in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Dr Babak Shahbodagh received his PhD from Kyoto University in 2011. He was awarded the Monbusho Scholarship for his PhD program from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Japan. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNSW. His research interests include:

Dr Babak Shahbodagh received his PhD from Kyoto University in 2011. He was awarded the Monbusho Scholarship for his PhD program from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Japan. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNSW. His research interests include:

MSc in Civil/Structural Engineering, University of Tehran, Iran (2005-2008)


My Research Activities

Dr Shahbodagh has conducted original research in the fields of “dynamics of unsaturated soils”, “dynamic pile-soil interaction”, “plasticity and viscoplasticity”, “strain localisation in multiphase porous media”, and “seismic analysis of geo-structures”. The outcomes of his research have been published in top-ranked Q1 journals in the field, including Int J Numer Anal Meth Geomech, Com&Geo, Int J Geomech, J Mat Civ Eng, and Acta Geotechnica, and Constr Build Mater.
