The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) has specific responsibility for early career researchers, including Postdoctoral Researchers. The Pro Vice-Chancellor's office works closely with Faculties and Schools and is committed to assisting you in attaining your research goals.

2013 Postdoctoral Researcher E-zine Handbook

The 2013 Postdoctoral Researcher E-zine Handbook is an essential resource for all UNSW postdoctoral researchers. 

The Handbook provides a complete overview of resources, opportunities and support available to assist Postdoctoral Researchers in both their current research and ongoing professional and career development.

A key document contained in the Handbook is the  Postdoctoral Researchers Support Guideline which covers:

  • Definitions of Postdoctoral Researchers, Postdoctoral Fellows and Research Associates
  • Expectations of UNSW Postdoctoral Researchers, Supervisors/Mentors and Schools/Centres
  • Professional Development and Support for Postdoctoral Researchers including Seminars and Workshops, Research Funding, Conference and Travel Support

Postdoctoral Academy Program

The Postdoctoral Academy Program is available to postdoctoral researchers in the Faculties of Science, Medicine and Engineering. The Program is a professional development and education series of 2 x 13 weekly discussion style workshops delivered by UNSW senior staff who are leaders in their field followed by a networking opportunity to meet fellow researchers with light refreshments provided.

To register, simply log in to MyUNSW, select ‘My Staff Profile’ tab and choose ‘Training Registration’ in the left hand menu. Select the course type ‘Postdoctoral Academy’ and choose the courses you wish to attend. You will be sent an email confirming your registration.
