My background is in psychology and ageing. I am currently undertaking several projects including exploring the lived experience of ageing from a transdisciplinary perspective across psychology, neuroscience, medicine and experimental art with the National Institute of Experimental Art. I have an interest in ageing in vulnerable populations, including ageing prisoners. I am also collaborating with the ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research and the Public School of Health & Community Medicine on various projects on ageing prisoners, continuity of care and pathways of care for those who are homeless and at risk of dementia.

Research activities

My research explores societal and cultural attitudes towards ageing. I have been funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research for a project investigating the economic and social cost of care of older prisoners in Australia.  As a consequence of the ageing population and demographic shift within prisons, there has been a marked increase in ageing prisoners over the age of 50 in the last decade.
