Dr Guo Chen

Biography

Dr Chen is now a Lecturer and UNSW Scientia Fellow at School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications, the University of New South Wales. Before this appointment, he was a research fellow at the Australian National University, the University of Sydney and the University of Newcastle respectively. He was the recipient of UNSW Scientia Fellowship, the Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (ARC DECRA) Fellowship and the International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (Now replaced by Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship).

Dr Chen’s main research interests are power system security assessment, sustainable energy system modeling, artificial intelligence and neural networks, cyber physical system modelling, optimization and control, and their applications in smart grid and smart home. He has published about 90 high quality journal and conference papers in these fields. He has also secured more than $ 1 million grants from Australian Research Council (DE160100675 and DP180103217), universities, and industries.
