UNSW’s Expanded Perception and Interaction Centre (EPICentre) is hosting Visualisation Matters 2021: a conference and a hackathon (in collaboration with Woollahra Council) exploring how art, science, design and engineering can connect through visual creativity. The conference will be held online on 3rd September from 9am-5.30pm AEST, and hackathon on 2nd September.
We are seeking HDR students interested in being a part of the postgraduate session.
During the conference, successful applicants will explain how their research answers the question:
How does visual creativity and storytelling help us understand the complex world?
Students must create a three-minute video aimed at a generalised audience. Although students can include visual effects, we stress that videos are judged on their clarity and relevance to the topic. This is a one-hour session, so spots are limited! If you wish to present, please forward the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org by COB 30th July:
- Your name.
- The title of your HDR project.
- Your three-minute video, either attached to the email or available for download from Google Drive, Dropbox, or another provider.
Selected speakers will be contacted by COB 6th August. Videos that exceed 3 minutes or are below 2m30s will not be considered.
For more information on both the conference and hackathon, please see our website at http://visualisation.matters.today/2021/.
