Under the direction of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Training) and Dean of Graduate Research, Professor Laura Poole-Warren, the Graduate Research School (GRS) provides leadership, support and central administration for all Higher Degree Research (HDR) candidates and their supervisors at UNSW.
We aim to produce the research leaders of today and tomorrow through high quality research programs that are globally competitive and externally engaged, and that provide candidates with an enhanced research experience.
We understand that Higher Degree Researchers have taken their first steps in a long-term career, and offer a range of programs and development opportunities that nurture research careers across a number of pathways.
We have a strong commitment to knowledge exchange and a number of industry-linked research activities and programs, providing candidates with exceptional opportunities to deliver environmental, social and economic benefits for both local and global communities. These programs include the prestigious UNSW Scientia PhD Scholarship Scheme, and the UNSW Industry PhD Program.
We place people at the heart of everything we do, and work collaboratively with Faculties and Schools to promote a research culture of excellence, innovation and integrity.
Our aspiration is to be recognised as an international exemplar in equity, diversity and inclusion. We aim to achieve this by embracing the cultural richness of our communities, and we are committed to admitting and supporting candidates of high potential regardless of background.
