Biography

Dr. Cuo Zhang received the B.E. (Hons.) degree in electrical (power) engineering from the University of Sydney, Australia in 2014 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia in 2018. He is now the research associate with the University of New South Wales, Australia. Dr. Cuo Zhang received the B.E. (Hons.) degree in electrical (power) engineering from the University of Sydney, Australia in 2014 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia in 2018. He is now the research associate with the University of New South Wales, Australia. He is also a chief investigator of Australian Research Council - Research Hub for Integrated Energy Storage Solutions.

His research interests include power system planning and operation, voltage stability and control, microgrids, multi-energy systems, and applications of optimization theory and artificial intelligence in these areas. Until 2020, he has published 9 first-authored IEEE Transactions journal papers (2 of them are “Web-of-Science Highly Cited Papers”) and 3 first-authored IEEE/IET conference best papers.

Dr. Zhang was a recipient of IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid Best Reviewer for 2019, 2018 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Students Abroad from China Scholarship Council, Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship, and the 2014 University Medal from the University of Sydney.

Research interests include power system planning and operation, voltage stability and control, microgrids, multi-energy systems, and applications of optimization theory and artificial intelligence in these areas.
