My background research is in marine ecology, specifically, altered predation pressure in urban marine environments. My PhD focused on how biotic and abiotic factors can influence fish predation on sessile hard substrate assemblages. I have since joined A/Prof Jes Sammut and his aquaculture team, exploring the role aquaculture can play in sustainable livelihoods and food security. Other research with this team involves developing better feed formulations to increase efficiency and reduce the environmental impacts of aquaculture. I am also involved with Operation Crayweed as a research associate, a large-scale ecological restoration project bringing Phyllospora comosa back to Sydney.
