Dr Farhannah Aly MB ChB (Hons), FRANZCR, MPhil, is a research radiation oncologist at the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research and holds a conjoint lecturer appointment at the Southwest Sydney Clinical School UNSW. She currently is a member of the RANZCR Professional Practice Committee, RANZCR Mentoring working group and the SPHERE Cancer Clinical Academic Group Education Committee.

Farhannah has engaged with the community through her involvement with the Sisters Cancer Support Group, a support group for women from multicultural backgrounds, as well as running a weekly school science club for 5 years. Farhannah is committed to following best practice to facilitate open and reproducible research and to reduce research waste.

My Awards

2008- Elekta Award for The advances in the use of technology in Radiation Therapy. Awarded at Royal Australian College of Radiologists Annual Scientific Meeting for presentation: “Design and development of a protocol for adaptive intensity modulated radiotherapy in head and neck cancers”

My Research Activities

Farhannah's  primary research interest is the clinical implementation of statistical or machine learning outcome prediction models in patients with head and neck cancer. Farhannah collaborates with other researchers and clinicians, both in Australia and overseas. Her collaborations include data science, head and neck cancer and brain cancer projects. She is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
