Biography
Hamid’s research interest centres on fundamental understanding of multi-physic processes in reactive porous media in particular shales from micro- to macro-scale using theoretical, experimental and numerical developments. Such understanding has a wide range of applications from petroleum to mining, civil and environmental and biomechanical engineering. Hamid’s research interest centres on fundamental understanding of multi-physic processes in reactive porous media in particular shales from micro- to macro-scale using theoretical, experimental and numerical developments. Such understanding has a wide range of applications from petroleum to mining, civil and environmental and biomechanical engineering. Before joining UNSW Australia, Hamid worked in Oil&Gas industry as a Petroleum Engineer. He holds several patents and is an active member of ARMA and SPE.

There are new opening for highly motivated candidates with strong academic background in geomechanics and petroleum engineering to join our team, funded through research and industry initiatives to work on "coupled geomechanics" projects.
