My Expertise

 Experimental studies and measurements:

  •  Preparing and characterizing of the rare earth intermetallic compounds, Perovskites material, Glass state and Ceramics in nanoscale compounds (Arc furnace, ball milling, …)
  •  Magnetism and crystallography of rare-earth intermetallic compounds (Measurements and Data Analysis).
  •  XRD (Measurements and Data Analysis).
  •  FTIR (Data Analysis and measurements).
  •  Conductivity (DC, AC and Dielectric).
  •  PPMS (DC and AC magnetic properties)
  •  Neutron diffraction (ND), Magnetic structure analysis using neutron diffraction (use nuclear methods to study a wide variety of problems in magnetism) as well as on 'impossible' material (intermetallic compounds contain Gd element)
  •  57Fe Mӧssbauer spectroscopy.
  •  155Gd Mӧssbauer spectroscopy.

Theoretical modelling:

  •   Creating models for magnetic material properties and structures using MATLAB and Fortran.
  •    Data analysis for the conductivity of the materials and the XRD and Neutron Diffraction measurements.

Currently, Hatem is a research assistant, Capability System Centre and School of Science, University of New South Wales (UNSW) Canberra, Australia.

My Grants

  • 2018- A grant for the beamtime from Canadian nuclear laboratories Chalk River Ontario for studying the neutron diffraction for the project under the title (Spin reorientation transitions in the GdNiX (X=Al, Ga, In) system). 

  • 2017- A grant for the beamtime from ANSTO, Australia for studying the neutron diffraction for the project under title "Determination of the magnetic structures of RTi2Ga4 (R=Er, Ho, Dy) intermetallic compounds".

  • 2015- A grant from the Joint Institute of Nuclear Research “JINR” Dubna-Russia, for the summer school in neutron diffraction.  
  • 2010- A grant from the National Research Centre in Cairo, Egypt for the summer school in nanotechnology: preparation & structural measurements.
