Md Shamsuddoha is currently working as Program Manager (Design, Integration and Optimization) with ARC Training Centre for Automated Manufacture of Advanced Composites (AMAC) at UNSW Sydney. He is part of the team winning of the JEC Asia Innovation Award 2019 (marine) in collaboration with Defense Science and Technology Group (DSTG) for the research, manufacturing, testing and automated prototyping of a shape adaptive marine propeller embedded with optical sensor network. He completed his PhD on composites application specific to offshore oil and gas pipelines. Part of his PhD work won JEC Europe Innovation Award, and CRC Association Award for Excellence in Innovation in 2014. Before joining AMAC, he worked as a Research Scientist at Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), Germany on potential of structural rehabilitation of offshore energy structures. He was also actively involved in academic duties for more than six years in Bangladesh, Australia, and New Zealand. His current research is focused on innovative design and assimilation of composite materials for practical applications and smart structural health monitoring (SHM) using advanced sensors.
