With almost 5 years of post-PhD work experience in research, teaching and enterprise, Nilanjan has developed skills in applying research propositions, leading project meetings, networking and resolving conflicts in multi-partner collaborations and inviting university-industry collaborations. Currently he is working as research fellow and a program manager in Simulation and Performance Prediction with Automated Manufacture of Advanced Composites (AMAC) at UNSW Sydney to manage/supervise industry led/focussed projects.
Studying/working in top Australian (UNSW Sydney), top UK (Manchester, Nottingham and Leeds) and top Indian universities (IIT Kharagpur and JU) of world-class excellence in engineering instilled within him a sense of passion toward innovative and applied scientific research in the areas of analyzing new materials/methods, predicting their behaviour and manufacturing processes and made me flexible to welcome newer and wider researches.
Nilanjan's PhD and postdocs in Mechanical Engineering have set a new paradigm in efficiently predicting the behaviour of multi-layered and multi-physics materials (COMPOSITES), their mechanical behaviour (incl. SOLID MECHANICS) and understanding the physics behind the fluid-solid interaction at different scales (TRIBOLOGY). Outside research, he is currently supervising two PhDs in the areas of performance of hydrofoils with DST-G and advanced cutting of composites with OmniTanker. Nilanjan has lectured MScs in the fields of numerical methods, and tribology to share the most up-to-date industry relevant teaching material and create an effective teaching environment.

Nilanjan is very interested in academic/industry collaborations in the field of multidisciplinary projects which involves computational and predictive aspects of composites engineering. Please feel free to inbox him for any possible collaboration or networking opportunities.
