Pauline Campbell is both an experienced practitioner and academic whose experience spans high level marketing management, new product and brand development, trade marketing, events and sponsorship, communication and team leadership roles. Focus areas have been in the creation and implementation of both strategic and tactical solutions for competitive markets.

She has for worked for some of the biggest or most recognised market leading companies in Australia, predominately in the liquor and FMCG industries. Such brands and companies have included Woolworths, Fosters, Warner Bros., British American Tobacco, Bacardi, Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Bundaberg Rum and Jack Daniels. One of the brands launched was Eristoff Vodka, voted by AC Nielsen as the most successful liquor brand launch in value terms of the year. She coordinated Bundaberg Rum’s sponsorship of the Rugby World Cup, the biggest project Diageo Australia had ever undertaken. Her team were also POPAI winners for the Woolworths Collectables campaign development and implementation.

More recently, she has founded her own consultancy business, The Fast Tomato, working with small and big businesses alike in the creation of cutting edge, customer driven marketing strategies, as well as Training and development initiatives aimed at maximising performance and market opportunities.

As an academic, she has over 10 years-experience in both the tertiary and vocational areas for various providers in Australia, in face to face, online and blended learning environments. Her teaching at UNSW is at both the undergraduate and post graduate levels with Lecturer in Charge and Tutor duties.

She is a passionate educator, whereby she has contributed to the discussion paper, ‘The Pros and Cons of Using Technology in Teaching and Learning’ presented at Clute International Conference on Education (ICE), and was voted best presentation by academic peers in January 2019, Maui.

She is an active contributor to UNSW Community of Practices in Digital Assessment, Online Learning and innovation, as well as Sessional Academic staff. She has recently been awarded a joint scholarship to develop academic case studies for global usage, and received paid scholarship to complete Foundations of University Learning and Teaching (FULT) in 2019.

She is currently undertaking further studies in GCULT at UNSW in 2020.

  • International and Global Marketing Unit Tutor, 2017 overseeing 200 high performing students.
  • Marketing Fundamentals Unit delivery and assessment- Tutor 2018 onwards (7 classes on avg per term).
  • Lecturer in Charge, Marketing Fundamentals Summer term, 2019 (120 students) and 2020 (60 students).
  • Lecturer in Charge, Marketing Fundamentals Term 2, 3, 2019. Term 2 and 3, 2020. Each term approx. 500- 800 students. This has included the development of fully online and blended units.
