Neeraj Saxena is currently a Research Associate at the rCITI Group, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, UNSW. He started with his PhD in March 2014 under the supervision of Prof. S.T. Waller and Dr. V.V. Dixit. His dissertation topic was Modelling the Effect of the Number of Stop-&-gos on the Route Choice Behaviour of Car Drivers.

His research interests include:

  1. Traveller Behaviour
  2. Design of Stated Preference experiments
  3. Statistics and Econometrics 
  4. Traffic Assignment and Network Design Problems
  5. Regional Transport Modelling

He got his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra in the year 2007. He also worked with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for four years as a software engineer. He completed his master's degree in transport engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay in July, 2013.

He was the recipient of the best paper award at the Transportation Planning and Implementation Methodologies for Developing Countries (TPMDC) conference held in 2016. He also bagged the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering Prize at the Post Graduate Research Symposium held within the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW in 2016. He also received the honourable mention for the David Willis Best Poster prize at the Australasian Transport Research Forum (ATRF) conference in 2015.
