Dr Adeola Bamgboje is an Early Career Researcher working with the Psycho-Oncology Research Group and as a conjoint lecturer in the South Western Sydney Clinic School at the University of New South Wales with 7 years’ experience in health informatics research. Dr Bamgboje has worked on several projects involving eHealth interventions and cancer patients including successfully coordinating the Tour de Cure-funded development and usability evaluation of an online self-management intervention for fear of cancer recurrence in cancer survivors (iConquerFear) in 2018 with the results published in Psycho-Oncology journal in 2019. She is also coordinating the Cancer Clinical Academic Group-funded pilot of a stepped care model for fear of cancer recurrence in breast cancer patients (Step FORwards study). In conjunction with Prof. Afaf Girgis, she has recently analysed the results and prepared three peer-reviewed publications from the formative Care Assist research, reporting the needs and preferences for an online intervention of male caregivers of women with breast cancer. Dr Bamgboje attained her PhD in 2018. She is developing her research profile, being awarded an Australian Postgraduate Award to complete her PhD, people’s choice award for her 3-minutes thesis competition, international travel grants, authoring 15 articles (six in 2019), and 7 presentations and posters at national and international conferences.

  • online interventions to support cancer patients and their caregivers
  • strategies to promote patient/caregiver adherence to online interventions
  • improving the digital health literacy skills of cancer patients and caregivers, particularly for people who are culturally and linguistically diverse
