Angie was an academic tutor from 2015 - 2017 at the University of Sydney, and acquired UNSW Taste of Research Scholarship from UNSW in 2015 to work under the supervision of Scientia Professor Rose Amal. In 2017, Angie received the Sydney Industrial Placement Scholarship from The University of Sydney to undertake her Hons Thesis at AB Mauri STC, North Ryde, Sydney for 6 months (full-time). Throughout her undergraduate degree, she was actively involved in student society, school and state organisations including Engineers Australia, Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), SUCES, PPIA USYD.

Prior to coming to UNSW, Angie worked in various industry and start-ups as product development engineer, process engineer and wastewater engineer. She has acquired experience in diverse fields including 3D cell culture and bioprinting, yeast manufacturing & fermentation, membrane technology, wastewater treatment and others. During her work experience, she successfully developed an efficient end-to-end manufacturing process & QC methods for product commercialisation. She also authored documentations such as safety data sheet (SDS), certificate of analysis (CoA) and specification sheets, in accordance to the Model Code of Practice and industry best practices.

She also led the new website project, which won 6 accumulated awards from CSS Design Awards and awwwards, including Honors, Innovation Design Award, Special Kudos Award, Mobile Excellence, User Interface Design Awards and User Experience Design Awards. She was the director and producer of product photoshoot and videography.

Angie commenced her Doctor of Philosophy degree in 2019 at the School of Chemical Engineering at UNSW under the supervision of A/Prof Chandrawati (Nanotechnology for Food and Medicine (NanoFAM) Laboratory). Angie is a Scientia PhD candidate and her work focuses on developing colorimetric sensors for early cancer detection via breath test. Angie is currently undertaking a professional development course run by Massachusetts Institution of Technology (Online) to support her research. In addition, she has completed 8 professional development courses from 2020 - 2021 at UNSW AGSM and The University of Sydney CCE.

Angie is currently the president of the Chemical Engineering Research Society (CERS) at the School of Chemical Engineering, UNSW. She was previously the inaugural treasurer and the founding committee. Angie is also an experienced graphic designer and science illustrator.
