Biography

Aysu is a PhD Candidate, Sessional Academic and Research Assistant in High-Performance Architecture at the Faculty of Built Environment in the University of New South Wales. Aysu is a PhD Candidate, Sessional Academic and Research Assistant in High-Performance Architecture at the Faculty of Built Environment in the University of New South Wales. She is an Architect studied at Bahcesehir University in Istanbul, Turkey and Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Architecture de Montpellier in France. She is also an Engineer with a Master of Science Degree in Sustainable Building Engineering from the University of Greenwich in London, England.

She is a tutor within the Faculty of Built Environment mainly in the Master of Architecture Program as well as in interdisciplinary courses and in other fields such as Construction and Property Management. Currently working on her PhD thesis with the title "Biomimetic adaptive façade components for thermal comfort: an approach towards multi-functionality". Her expertise involves architectural, biomimetic, environmentally sustainable and computational design, building information modeling and performance analysis specifically high-performance building envelopes and systems.

My Research Activities

Aysu's current research activities are oriented to:

  • Development of biomimetic adaptive façades
  • Design concept generation for building envelope adaptation  
  • Thermal and visual comfort analyses of advanced envelope systems
