Elena is a Health Economist specializing in the analysis of linked administrative health datasets to provide evidence on whether treatments provide good value for money. Currently, she is a Research Associate and PhD Student within the National Perinatal Epidemiology and Statistics Unit (NPESU) at the Centre for Big Data Research in Health (CBDRH), UNSW Medicine & Health. Her PhD project focusses on an economic valuation of fertility treatments.

Prior to this role, Elena obtained a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences (Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, Germany) and a Master's degree in Health Economics (University of Queensland, Australia).

My Research Activities

Apart from being an active member in research networks in both UNSW Medicine & Health and the UNSW Business School, Elena helped establish the ISPOR Sydney Student & Early-Career Researcher Chapter as the first President of the Chapter. She is involved in diverse research collaborations and publishes her work in leading academic journals such as Fertility and Sterility, European Journal of Public Health, and Reproductive BioMedicine Online.


My Engagement

2020-2021: President of ISPOR Sydney Student and Early-Career Researcher Chapter which aims to provide professional advancement and networking opportunities in the health economics and health outcomes research (HEOR) space

2019-2021: Higher Degree Research Candidate Representative at UNSW Medicine Candidate Higher Degree Committee which aims to advocate for improvements in the students' experience and negotiate issues raised by students
