Following are FAQs about the Research Website and the Researcher Profiles.
What is the Research Website?
The Research Website is a single web portal for all aspects of research at UNSW. Launched Monday 23 May, 2011, it consolidates all previously existing research websites into a single "user-centred gateway" for both internal and external users.
The key objectives of the Researcher Website are to promote UNSW research, demonstrating UNSW's status as a leading research institution, and streamline and improve access to service and administrative information. It aims to provide current and prospective research staff and students with a one-stop shop for all research related information and processes. The emphasis is on providing a unified user experience.
What are Researcher Profiles?
These pages provide information on the University's researchers and their research activities. Key information about UNSW researchers profiled on the Gateway is sourced from UNSW data systems: HR, and Research Outputs System (ROS). These pre-populate the Profiles via direct data feeds, enabling basic data to be uploaded while also providing researchers with the opportunity to add information, images, links and social media to their profiles.
Who can have a Profile page on the Research Website?
In the current version of the Research Website, Profiles are restricted to UNSW academic researchers. The site will expand profiling of UNSW staff and students in future phase releases. Researchers with queries regarding creating and editing profile pages should visit the Instructions and Troubleshooting Guidelines.
There is a login link in the header of the Research Website - what is this for?
The link is to provide access to UNSW academic researchers to edit their profile pages. Login is used by any user to access secure areas or/and update Profiles and Custom Pages on behalf of the researchers. Both require valid active UNSW zID/zPass.
Where can I find instructions / advice on creating and editing my profile page?
Please see the Instructions and Troubleshooting Guidelines.
