Are you a researcher associated with an internal centre or institute?

Link research outputs with the centre or institute in ROS when 'claiming' them.

Starting 01 January 2020, researchers should associate their claimed research outputs with their centres or institutes.

This data collection, enabled through researchers' association of centre and institute 'labels' in ROS with their claimed research outputs, is necessary to support a new kind of reporting that will list the research outputs associated with a given internal centre or institute.

    How it will work:

Researchers will select a centre or institute label for each centre or institute with which they want to associate the research output they are claiming in ROS. They will also indicate what percentage of the research output they are associating with each centre or institute selected.

Each output listed in a centre or institute’s later report will be indicated as a whole output (1) or a fractional output (e.g., 0.5, 0.25, 0.6), depending on the percentage that each researcher associating a claimed output with the centre or institute has entered.

Instructions for associating centre and institute labels with research outputs in ROS can be found here.

Internal Centres/Institutes Categorised by Faculty as Requiring 'Outright Renewal'

Process for outright renewal

In brief:

  • The internal centre/institute completes the Renewal form (Appendix D) and submits it (with relevant attachments) for approval.
  • The Office of the PVCR reviews the form and makes a recommendation to the DVC for approval and then advises the centre/institute's Presiding Faculty of the outcome.

See Section 4.2 of the UNSW Centres and Institutes Procedure for information about renewal.

Click here and see page 3 for full details on the process for outright renewal of an internal centre or institute.
