Enrolment Dates

For Higher Degree Research candidates, there are two teaching periods for the year. Each teaching period has its own census date, set by the University in accordance with Commonwealth legislation (HESA 2003).

The census date is the last day you can enrol in a research higher degree program for that semester. It is also the last date you can submit your thesis for examination without having to enrol in the next semester.

Candidates who are completing coursework subjects must finalise their enrolment by the start of the teaching period, which is earlier than the census date. Please refer to the table below for key enrolment dates.

Please be aware that you must be on campus to complete an enrolment form. Further information about the enrolment process can be found at Getting Started and Managing Your Candidature
