Biography

Annelies is a pharmacoepidemiologist who joined the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre at the University of New South Wales in November 2020 as a postdoctoral research fellow. She completed her PhD in medicine at the University of Newcastle in 2020. Her thesis examined non-adherence to inhaled corticosteroids among pregnant women with asthma. Annelies is a pharmacoepidemiologist who joined the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre at the University of New South Wales in November 2020 as a postdoctoral research fellow. She completed her PhD in medicine at the University of Newcastle in 2020. Her thesis examined non-adherence to inhaled corticosteroids among pregnant women with asthma. Since joining NDARC she has completed projects on smoking cessation pharmacotherapies among cardiovascular patients and is currently focussing on the same pharmacotherapies among pregnant people. Annelies has a growing expertise in working with population-based linked datasets.
