Dr Sara Hungerford MBBS FRACP FCSANZ PhD is a former professional cricketer, Fulbright scholar and now structural heart disease imaging cardiologist with previous clinical and research experience in Australia, the United Kingdom and United States.
 

Dr Hungerford has a keen interest in cardiac hemodynamic research and structural heart disease, specifically in improving the assessment and management of patients with complex valvular heart disease and failure undergoing transcatheter intervention. Dr Hungerford has presented at numerous international and national cardiac meetings, has 3 published book chapters and more than 75 publications and scientific abstracts. 

Dr Hungerford completed her PhD in 2022 and is currently completing ongoing Fulbright post-doctoral research in collaboration with Professor Navin Kapur (The CardioVascular Centre Tufts, Boston MA United States).

Dr Sara Hungerford is proficient in transoesophageal echocardiography and cardiac CT for structural valvular assessment, as well as novel CMR techniques for pressure-flow estimation in patients with advanced heart failure.
