Dr Economidis joined the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre in 2018, after completing a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at the University of New South Wales. Dr Economidis joined the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre in 2018, after completing a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at the University of New South Wales. His PhD focused on the evaluation of the implementation of family-based therapy programs to enhance government responses to reduce child physical abuse and neglect in New South Wales, Australia. He specialises in mixed-methods responses to understanding the intersection of research, policy and practice and has worked on a range of projects in drug policy, community health and child protection. Outside his PhD, George has also evaluated child protection programs aiming to provide placement stability for children in out-of-home care; a range of government-funded intensive preservation and restoration programs using linked administrative data; and the Australian kava implementation pilot program in contexts of drug and alcohol policy.
