Associate Professor Leong Chan teaches design studies in the Faculty of Art & Design. His research focuses on design and national experience, design history, visualizing HIV/AIDS, and the visual cultures of East Asia.
My broad research area is in spatial data analysis using GIS and geocomputational tools to understand and address geographic problems and issues. My current research focus is on biodiversity, disease modelling and terrain analysis.
My research focuses on what makes plants good at surviving and flourishing in their environments, and how they adapt to environmental change. In particular, I explore and identify ecological strategies across variable and complex environments. E
