The following areas will be discussed and explored:
- How academics/researchers read
- General and advanced academic reading strategies
- Working and engaging with your students so that they see reading as a 'visible' and 'valued' academic practice.
This session incorporates interactive discussions and group reflection time.
In preparation for this session Supervisors are asked to bring along to the session:
- a list of problems/issues that you notice in the reading habits of new/commencing research students
- brief notes on how you read (and take notes from) academic texts in your field
