Nagisa Fukui is Associate Professor of Japanese studies, in the School of Humanities & Languages and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Her research interests are Japanese language education, language learning and teaching, and Japanese discourse analysis by using the systemic functional approach (SFL). She is the designated representative of the Japanese Proficiency Test (JLPT), Sydney NSW site, a committee member of the Japanese Language Speech Contest NSW, and a member of the Australian Network for Teaching Advanced Japanese of the Japanese Studies Association of Australia.
