Dr Praveen is the Program Director for Primary Healthcare Research at the George Institute for Global Health, India. He is a public health specialist with thorough knowledge of epidemiological study designs and having a keen interest in systems based innovations to address inequities related to chronic diseases. He completed his PhD in the School of Public Health at the University of Sydney, focusing on improving chronic disease care for rural population of India. To date, Praveen has worked successfully in developing and implementing large population based primary care research programs involving use of e/m-health strategies in India, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Thailand. Praveen uses mixed methods research and implementation sciences approaches to implement well established evidence into routine practices to improve access to quality health care. Praveen is the elected co-chair of the hypertension research program of Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases, a collaboration of major research funding agencies to specifically address chronic non-communicable diseases.
