I completed two associate degrees in metallurgy (quality control and metallurgical processing) before heading to University where I received a Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering from McGill University in 2009. I then completed a PhD in 2014 in the school of Chemical Engineering at the University of Newcastle on the use of colloidal particles in froth flotation. I joined UNSW as a research associate after the completion of my PhD, undertaking research in the field of mineral processing.

My Qualifications

  • PhD Chemical Engineering, University of Newcastle, Australia (2010-2015)
  • B.Eng. Materials Engineering, McGill, Canada (2005-2009)
  • Associate Degree in Metallurgical Processing, Cegep de Trois-Rivieres, Canada (2004-2005)
  • Associate Degree in Quality Control, Cegep de Trois-Rivieres, Canada (2001-2004)

My Research Activities

My research is in the field of mineral processing. I look into the fundamentals of froth flotation including the evaluation of chemical reagents and particles on bubble surface properties and bubble interactions. More recently, I have been working on the effect of water quality on froth flotation.

My Teaching

MINE1010: Mineral Resources Engineering - Main instructor for an introductory course to the field of mining engineering. Students get to apply their knowledge by working on application exercises on various aspects of mining.

MINE2810 (MINE8820): Introduction to metallurgical Processing - Lab demonstrator

MINE8680: Geotechnical Data Collection and Analysis - Teach the statistic component of the course

Another interest of mine is the good use of statistics in engineering and research. I have developed an online fundamentals of statistics course for mining undergraduate students.
