I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting in the United States at Brigham Young University and then completed my doctoral degree in Canada at the University of Waterloo. I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting in the United States at Brigham Young University and then completed my doctoral degree in Canada at the University of Waterloo. I commenced as a Lecturer at the School of Accounting at UNSW in July 2019. Prior to my appointment at UNSW I taught financial accounting, managerial accounting, and audit at the University of Waterloo, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

My Research Activities
My current research interests relate to employee responses to the management control system. My ongoing projects relate to employee learning, employee engagement, goal setting, and reciprocity in the workplace. I primarily address my research questions experimentally as well as with field data.
My Teaching
I have taught a range of accounting courses including management accounting, financial accounting, and audit and have taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. I am interested primarily in management accounting. I also believe in incorporating data analytics and data visualization into all topical areas of accounting in order to better prepare students for their futures.
