Biography

Ian leads the Knowledge Brokerage Team of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes. His role is to enhance the Centre’s influence beyond academia by facilitating strategic engagement between the Centre and external stakeholders. Ian leads the Knowledge Brokerage Team of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes. His role is to enhance the Centre’s influence beyond academia by facilitating strategic engagement between the Centre and external stakeholders. Ian has over 20 years of experience generating information on the climate and disseminating it to research, government and private-sector stakeholders. He has previously worked for the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate System Science, NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, the UK Met Office and CSIRO in a variety of applied climate science, project management and data provision roles. His PhD from UNSW Sydney focussed on the integration of regional climate projections into investigations of climate change impacts. Ian has contributed to numerous scientific papers and reports, including major international reports by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, OECD and European Environment Agency.
