Worked as Research Assistant at the University of New South Wales (2013-2014). Granted the University of New South Wales Tuition Fees Scholarship (2014).  PhD in Biotechnology within the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Science (BABS) at the University of New South Wales (2019); supervised by Associate Professor Suhelen Egan. Currently working ad Postdoctoral research fellow within the Center of Marine Science and Innovation (CMSI) at UNSW; supervised by Professor Torsten Thomas.

My Research Activities

I am passionate about the marine environment, I have strong research background in marine microbiology and ecology. The projects I am involved in, include the following activities:

  • Bacterial-seaweeds interactions
  • The ecological role of antibiotic producing bacteria
  • Use of bioinformatic tools and molecular approaches for the analysis of microbial communities associates with marine samples 
  • Engineering of Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942
  • Supervise PhD students, assisting during experimental design, fieldwork and laboratory activities
