Research Interests:
My main research focus is to gain a better understanding of the genetic and environmental factors involved in ageing, longevity and age-related disease, including dementia. The 'omic factors that may be involved include variation at the nucleotide level, epistasis, transcriptomics, epigenetic variation, and gene-environmental interactions. Current research is being undertaken using large population cohorts of older Australians and utilising large international biobanks. The establishment of collaborations with national and international investigators and consortia is enabling investigation of these age-related questions on a larger scale.

Broad Research Areas:
Human Ageing, Genetics - Genome Analysis, Epigenomics, Transcriptomics, Gerontology - Geriatrics, Epidemiology, Psychiatry

Society Memberships & Professional Activities:
American Human Society of Genetics, International Society to Advance Alzheimer Research and Treatment (ISTAART), Australian Association of Gerontology , Participant in the CSIRO Scientists in Schools Program

Specific Research Keywords:
Genetics, Genomics, Ageing, Biomarker, Dementia, Epigenetics, Transcriptomics, Mental Health
