Dr Kishor Mazumder

Biography

I am a pharmacist and adjunct faculty at the School of Optometry and Vision Science (SOVS). I obtained my PhD degree at Osaka University, Japan and was an endeavour postdoctoral fellow at school of biomedical sciences, CSU, Australia. I have been working at Jashore University of Science and Technology as an Associate Professor for the last six years.

My Research Activities

Nanoparticle based site and target specific drug delivery (Especially, ocular drug delivery through contact lenses) by using different biocompatible and biodegradable polymers and metals.

Exploring immunomodulators form Bangladesh medicinal plants against viral infections such as SARC-CoV-2.

Isolation and characterization of bio-active compounds from Functional Grains, medicinal plants, microbes, marine organism and animals.

Application of modern techniques such as NMR, LC-MS to structural elucidation of organic molecules.

Biological and Pharmacological screening of Plant extracts and bio-active novel compounds and tracking the underlining mechanism of actions.

Derivatization of bioactive compounds by using Ru-porphyrin based biomemetic catalyst with a aim of lead discovery and optimization.
