Mohsen earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from the Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), Iran. His early research focused on thermal barrier coatings and surface engineering, leading to a national patent. He subsequently worked for several years as a senior engineer in industry, gaining extensive experience in materials processing, high-temperature systems, and large-scale industrial operations. Mohsen completed his PhD at UNSW Sydney within the SMaRT Centre, where he developed sustainable lithium–sulfur batteries using waste-derived materials. Since completing his PhD in 2025, Mohsen has been a Research Associate at the SMaRT Centre, focusing on resource recovery, waste-to-value processes, and green steel innovation. His research aims to support sustainable manufacturing pathways, reduce environmental impact, and accelerate the adoption of circular economy technologies.
