Dr Rachel Houweling is an early career researcher, focused on the psychosocial needs of children, adolescents, and young adults (AYA) with cancer, and their families. She has a background in occupational therapy and family/carer support, which inspired her PhD exploring parent support. Her research goal is to develop and evaluate evidence-based programs which enable children with cancer and their families to engage in meaningful physical, social, and self-care activities during and beyond cancer treatment, for therapeutic benefit.
