Dr Rachel Houweling has a background in occupational therapy and has worked in both the UK and Australia. Rachel completed her PhD in 2023 at the University of Southampton, School of Geography and Life Sciences, funded by the South Coast Doctoral Training Partnership. Her PhD explored inequality and mental health for parents. Whilst conducting the PhD, Rachel worked as a part-time and casual occupational therapy lecturer at the University of Southampton.

My Research Activities
Rachel is currently working on a variety of projects in the Mental Health and Relationships team, within the Behavioural Sciences Unit (BSU). The BSU conduct psycho-social research to support children, adolescents and young adults with cancer and other serious illnesses, and their families.
