Biography

Ms Yuchen Xie is a Research Associate at the Centre for Social Research in Health and the Social Policy Research Centre.

Prior to this role, Yuchen was a Scientia PhD Candidate in the School of Psychology at UNSW, where she researched equitable access to aged care. Ms Yuchen Xie is a Research Associate at the Centre for Social Research in Health and the Social Policy Research Centre.

Prior to this role, Yuchen was a Scientia PhD Candidate in the School of Psychology at UNSW, where she researched equitable access to aged care. She has recently submitted her PhD thesis on navigating aged care services from the consumer perspective. Before her PhD training at UNSW, she worked on various research projects on health policy and health services research in the United States and Singapore. 

Yuchen is an interdisciplinary researcher interested in ageing, health promotion, psychology, and health services research. Her research employs both qualitative and quantitative methods to address three broad research areas:

  1. Equitable access to health/aged care services
  2. Application of digital technology, such as AI, in healthcare
  3. Barriers to accessing healthcare services faced by vulnerable communities, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
