I am specialised in neurodegnerative disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and their familial forms in particular. 

I am working in outpatient clinics half day a week and the rest of time, I am doing research focus on brain pathology and neurogenetics.

Dr. Huang obtained her MBBS degree in Harbin Medical University, China in 1991, trained as a neurologist, and practiced in clinics for nine years. Dr. Huang obtained her MBBS degree in Harbin Medical University, China in 1991, trained as a neurologist, and practiced in clinics for nine years. She started her medical research career in 2003, when she completed her PhD in genetic (in Capital Medical University, Beijing, China) and proteomic (in Flinders University, SA, Australia) research on neurological conditions. Following her PhD, Dr. Huang performed postdoctoral research on neuropathology at Neuroscience Research Australia in Sydney under the supervision of Prof Glenda Halliday. Since 2007, Dr Huang has obtained and successfully completed several projects on genetics in dementia and Parkinson’s disease.

She has been invited to review articles for many journals, such as Neurology (5 times in the past year), Neurobiology of Disease, etc. She is a guest editor for Current Alzheimer’s Research and Frontiers in Bioscience. So far, she has over 80 publication with over 1400 citations, H index 23 and her RG Score is 35.72 (higher than 92.5% ResearchGate members). In the past five year, she has 37 publications focusing on neuropathology, neurogenetics, neurology and molecular biology. She was promoted to conjoint Associate Professor in 2016. 

Associate Professor Huang (Conjoint) has primarily supervised 9 master/ honours students and visiting scholars and two ILP students, and co-supervised two Ph.D students. She is a facilitator in the undergraduate medical course at UNSW Sydney.
