Biography
Bin is an experienced educator who has taught a wide range of Analytics courses, including Python for Business, Machine Learning, Data Visualization with Tableau and Effective Storytelling with Data, and Causal Analytics.

Bin is an experienced educator who has taught a wide range of Analytics courses, including Python for Business, Machine Learning, Data Visualization with Tableau and Effective Storytelling with Data, and Causal Analytics.
His previous teaching experience before joining UNSW Sydney spans across four major Singaporean universities, namely National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, The Singapore Management University, and Singapore University of Social Sciences.
He also has a wealth of corporate experience, having worked at Barclays Bank, McKinsey, and Shopee Singapore previously. During his time at Barclays, he was a C++ programmer and designed and implemented IT solutions covering trade flow, data analytics and risk control of the award-winning trading platform. Following that, he was a digital consultant at McKinsey, and helped leading players in Southeast Asia's TMT sector (Telecom, Media and Technology) to review their end-to-end IT architecture, IT Operating Model, cost structure and digitization roadmap. At Shopee Singapore, he was managing three product lines, namely acquisition of new buyers, listing of products and user account management. His team of product managers were in charge of execution from concept to design, to prototyping, testing, UAT and lastly launch plan.
Bin holds a Master of Science in Computation for Design and Optimization from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. On completion of his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, he was awarded a First-Class Honors by School of Computing in National University of Singapore and the IEEE Gold Medal (Top student in Computer Engineering) and was honored to be picked as the reserve Valedictorian for his 2009 cohort.
