Biography

Dr Mijanur Rahman is a Senior Research Fellow at the Collaboration for Cancer Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CCORE), Ingham Institute of Applied Medical Research, and School of Clinical Medicine, South-Western Sydney Clinical Campus, Faculty of Medicine & Health, UNSW. Dr Mijanur Rahman is a Senior Research Fellow at the Collaboration for Cancer Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CCORE), Ingham Institute of Applied Medical Research, and School of Clinical Medicine, South-Western Sydney Clinical Campus, Faculty of Medicine & Health, UNSW. He is also Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Daffodil Centre, University of Sydney. He completed his PhD in Clinical Epidemiology and Medical Statistics from the University of Newcastle in 2020. Before joining UNSW, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Daffodil Centre, University of Sydney (2022–2024), and at the University of Wollongong (2020-2021). He is a former Cancer Survivorship Research Fellow (2022-2024) of the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA). He is currently an editor of the COSA Survivorship e-News (2023-25).

Dr Rahman’s research focuses on statistical modelling using longitudinal and linked health records to address comparative effectiveness questions, identify risk factors and health trajectories, and inform scalable solutions to reduce inequities and improve health outcomes, especially for people with cancer and other chronic health conditions. Dr Rahman has almost 10 years of experience in working with longitudinal and linked health data analysis. His career highlights include 38 publications, over 30 conference presentations, and securing ~150K in competitive funding.
