Trevor Jones has over 40 years experience in the aviation industry and is currently the Head of Security Govenance, Advisory & Regulatory Affairs which is based within the Qantas Group Security Division in Sydney; a position he has held for the past 25 years.  Trevor is and has been on a number of international committees and working groups with ICAO, IATA, AAPA and ACI as well as a number of Australian Government Working Groups. Trevor's responsibilities cover the Qantas Group's operations worldwide providing aviation security advice to the Board, senior executives and operational employees.

Prior to joining Qantas, Trevor was the Manager Policy and Compliance for the Federal Airports Corporation (FAC) with operational responsibilities for the then 22 Federal Airports. 

In the late 1980’s he was the Security Manager for Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport. For five years Trevor was Australia’s representative on the Airports Council International (ACI) World Operational Safety Task Force working closely with the International Air Transport Association (IATA). In addition, Trevor holds a FAA Commercial pilots licence with instrument and multi-engine endorsements.

Trevor has been with the UNSW for the past 13 years.
