I am a research fellow at the ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research (University of New South Wales, Australia).

Through field experiments, lab-in-the-field experiments and survey research, I examine people's financial decision-making. Hazel Bateman and I analyze the impact of product disclosure in the form of a one-pager on retirement income product choice. Together with Jacki Ellis and Shang Wu, Hazel Bateman and I analyze how one can prevent superannuation fund members to switch their investments to cash during high-volatility markets and consequently miss out on the market rebound.

Hazel Bateman, Christine Eckert, Susan Thorp and I examine whether people perceive superannuation contributions, residential mortgages, and investment mortgages as substitutes or complements.

I was involved in a 5-year project with the Dutch pension fund of the retail sector, Bedrijfstakpensioenfonds voor de Detailhandel, where we especially look at effective pension communication and retirement savings behavior.

Furthermore, Martijn van den Assem, Dennie van Dolder, Paul Smeets, and I work on a project where we research financial giving behavior in a game show setting.
