Biography

Nayiri is a barrister with over 20 years of legal experience. She is a proud UNSW alumna, with a B Com (Merit scholar) and LLB, as well as a Masters in Law from USyd (Taxation). Her career spans M&A roles at two of the “Big 4” professional services firms, in-house advisory work at Macquarie Bank, and leadership of the Capital Markets team at the Property Council of Australia. Nayiri is a barrister with over 20 years of legal experience. She is a proud UNSW alumna, with a B Com (Merit scholar) and LLB, as well as a Masters in Law from USyd (Taxation). Her career spans M&A roles at two of the “Big 4” professional services firms, in-house advisory work at Macquarie Bank, and leadership of the Capital Markets team at the Property Council of Australia. Since 2016, she has practised as a barrister at 9 Wentworth Chambers, a leading set of commercial chambers.

Nayiri has a broad commercial practice, encompassing corporations law, taxation, property and other aspects of private and commercial law. She is a passionate teacher, mentor to many students and junior practitioners, and keynote speaker. 

She is thrilled to be back at her alma mater, doing what she is most passionate about: legal education.
