I am a sociologist with expertise in public health, political economy, social policy and science and technology studies.
My current research examines the driving forces, influences, interests and logics shaping new digital technologies in population health. I am also collaborating on a project that analyses the financialisation of aged care.
I publish my work in the fields of sociology of health and illness, social studies of technology (STS), critical public health, harm reduction, and psychosocial interventions in substance use and mental health. I have also worked in public health policy and pandemic response roles for NSW Health and have conducted projects, research and evaluations for community health agencies.
Research Interests:
public health, social change, global political economy, digital health technologies, risk, social studies of finance, prevention and harm reduction, economic sociology, feminist studies of science and technology.

My Engagement
I currently serve on the NSW Branch Committee of the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA). My primary advocacy role for the branch is in public health's responses to climate change.
My Teaching
I teach to promote critical thinking, foster the application of course content to real world contexts and to empower students to unpack and address a range of challenging social questions. Creating dynamic and participatory learning environments that make learning new things less intimidating is my passion.
I am Senior Lecturer in PHCM9012 Health Promotion and Social Perspectives of Health. I have over ten years of experience teaching courses in contemporary political economy, surveillance and the politics of public health, theories of social change and contemporary society.
