Roxane Francis is a PhD candidate and Research Assistant in the Centre for Ecosystem Science at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Her work focuses on the management of avian diversity in Botswana, including the effects of large herbivores, landfill pollution, and changing river flows. She has also studied the effects of changing river flows on Australian freshwater turtles and is particularly interested in ecosystem responses to alteration of flow regimes in rivers. She investigates such patterns and processes using her skills in stable isotope and heavy metal analyses, drone piloting, statistics and remote sensing. She is a recipient of funding from the Taronga Conservation Society, Idea Wild and the Centre for Ecosystem Science.
