Zara Page graduated in 2020 with Honours Class I with a major in Neuroscience from UNSW Sydney. In 2020, Zara was awarded the Dementia Centre for Research Collaboration PhD Scholarship to continue her research, and is currently a third year PhD candidate at the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing at UNSW Sydney. Zara is supervised by Scientia Professor Henry Brodaty, Dr Nicole Kochan and Dr Karen Croot. Her PhD focuses on how cultural and linguistic factors potentially impact performance on standardised neuropsychological assessments for older adults from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. Zara has a keen interest in working towards the innovation and development of culture and language informed diagnostic tools and processes to deliver equitable healthcare services for older adults from diverse communities and to improve early diagnostic strategies for dementia among CALD individuals. She is involved in international dementia research initiatives and was selected as a 2022 Alzheimer’s Association ISTAART Ambassador. Zara dedicates a significant amount of time to domestic and international collaborations and networking opportunities and frequently gives invited talks and lectures promoting her work.
